Introduction

Organization and Objectives

The Office of Research and Development aims to achieve research excellence, promote industry–academia collaboration, facilitate patented technology transfer, offer transparent tendering, and establish an industrial innovation platform. In accordance with the organizational regulations, the office comprises the Academic Service Division, Industry–Academia Collaborative Patent Division, and Center for Innovation and Incubation.

The major goals of the office are as follows:

  • “Improving the quality of academic research and cultivating an atmosphere for academic research.”
  • “Promoting innovation and technology transfer from collaboration between industry and research institutes.”
  • “Boosting creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, as well as the commercialization of business ideas based on research and development.”
